Reliable recording
The third take you finally nailed is on your disk.
Cloud recorders lose takes after you finish talking: the upload stalls, the processing queue chokes, the retry goes nowhere. vidspawn records a display, a window or a region, with camera and audio-only modes, and writes straight to your disk. One shortcut: ⌘⇧R.
Pick your frame
A full display, one window, or a region you drag out. Camera capture and audio-only modes are built in.
Both sides of the audio
Your mic and the system audio, captured together, so the demo and your commentary land in one take.
Pause, resume, recover
Pause a take and pick it back up: the segments join when you stop. And if the app dies mid-take, a recovery sweep imports the orphaned recording on the next launch.
Straight to disk
There is no upload during capture: the file grows on your disk while you record and is already playable when you stop.
Leave apps out of the take
A macOS-style exclusions list keeps the apps you name out of the capture, their audio too. Your password manager and your messages never make a cameo.
From public reviews of other recorders
